Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Big Country Dump & Demo ("we", "us", "our") is a junk removal, demolition and property services business based in Vernon, British Columbia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you contact us, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information we collect
Estimate and contact forms. Our forms ask for your name, phone number, email address (optional), the service you need and a message about your project. When you press the button, the form opens your own email app with a message already filled in and addressed to us. Nothing is sent to us until you send that email yourself. The form does not store your information on our website.
Phone calls, texts and emails. When you call, text or email us, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us about your job.
Job details. If you hire us, we also keep what we need to do the work and bill for it, such as the job site address, the work requested, any photos you send, and invoice and payment records.
Website visits. When you visit this site, some information is collected automatically, as explained in section 3.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your questions and estimate requests
- To give you a quote and schedule the work
- To do the job, invoice you and keep business records
- To understand how people use our website so we can improve it
- To meet our legal and tax obligations
We only use your information for these purposes. We will not use it for anything else, such as marketing, without asking you first.
3. Cookies, analytics and maps
Google Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are used. It uses cookies and collects information such as your general location, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you arrived at the site. We see this information as totals and trends, not to identify you. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Google Maps. Some pages show an embedded Google Map of our service area. When that map loads, Google may receive your IP address and may set its own cookies.
Server logs. Like most websites, our web host keeps standard logs of visits, including IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
We do not use advertising or tracking pixels such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel on this site.
4. We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with the service providers listed below, or when the law requires it.
5. Service providers we use
- Google (Gmail) for our business email. Messages you send from our forms or by email are stored in our Gmail account.
- Google Analytics for website statistics, as described above.
- Google Maps for the service area map on our site.
- HostGator, which hosts this website and keeps the server logs described above.
These providers may store and process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
6. Your consent
By contacting us or sending us a form, you agree that we can use your information to respond to you and to provide the service you ask about. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, although we may then be unable to give you a quote or do the work.
7. How long we keep it
We keep estimate requests and job information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Invoices and other business records are kept as long as tax law requires, which is generally six years. When we no longer need information, we delete or destroy it.
8. How we protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including password-protected email and accounts and an encrypted (HTTPS) website. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will tell you if a breach of your information could put you at risk of harm.
9. Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we have about you, ask how it has been used, or ask us to correct it. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time required by PIPA, generally 30 business days.
